MERKUR Excellence, part of the MERKUR GROUP, is seeking a Game Tester to own hands‑on testing across devices and platforms in our Vienna studio.

You will drive QA processes, mentor junior testers, and support automated testing initiatives while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality casino games.

Formación

• 5+ years experience in QA for games, with senior or lead tester role.
• Experience in the Casino Game Industry.
• Fluent in English; German is nice to have.
• Deep understanding of the game development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum workflows.
• Strong bug reporting, communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Experience testing on various platforms.

• Own QA processes, create and maintain test plans, ensure quality throughout the development cycle, and be responsible for assigned features or titles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, track bug fixes, and contribute to sprints, reviews, and milestone meetings.
• Mentor junior QA team members with best practices to support their growth and the team.
• Support test automation efforts by implementing and using automated testing tools or pipelines.

MERKUR Excellence was founded in 2018 as part of the MERKUR GROUP and specializes in game design and development, with a particular focus on casino games.

We’re looking for a Game Tester (m/f/d) for our new Viennese Studio to take ownership of game testing across multiple platforms and devices. In this role, you’ll ensure quality throughout the development cycle, drive QA processes, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. With your experience, you’ll mentor junior testers, contribute to team development, and support the implementation of automated testing tools. Your responsibilities

• As a Game Tester (m/f/d) you take full ownership of hands‑on game testing by independently performing test cases across multiple devices and platforms, including documentation, bug reporting, and a variety of test types (exploratory, regression, smoke, etc.)
• You also take ownership of QA processes, including creating and maintaining test plans, ensuring quality throughout the development cycle, and being responsible for assigned features or titles
• Moreover, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, track bug fixes, and actively contribute to sprints, reviews, and milestone meetings
• In addition, you will mentor junior QA team members by providing them with best practices and expertise to support their growth and the development of the entire team.
• Last but not least, you support test automation efforts by implementing and using automated testing tools or pipelines

Your profile

• 5+ years experience in QA for games, with multiple shipped titles in a senior or lead tester role
• Experience in the Casino Game Industry
• Fluent in English, German is nice to have
• Deep understanding of the game development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum workflows
• Strong bug reporting, communication, and documentation skills
• Proficiency with bug tracking tools, e.g. Jira
• Experience testing on various platforms
