MERKUR Excellence was founded in 2018 as part of the MERKUR GROUP and specializes in game design and development, with a particular focus on casino games.

We’re looking for a Senior Game Tester (m/f/d) for our new Viennese studio. In this role, you will take ownership of game testing across multiple platforms and devices. You will ensure quality throughout the development cycle, drive QA processes across multiple titles, and work closely with cross-functional teams. Acting as a sparring partner for our Game Development Director you will continuously contribute to team development and improvement. Your responsibilities

• As a Senior Game Tester (m/f/d), you take full ownership of hands-on game testing. You independently perform and coordinate test cases across multiple devices and platforms. This includes documentation, bug reporting, and different test types, such as exploratory, regression, and smoke testing.
• You also take ownership of QA processes across multiple titles. This includes creating and maintaining test plans, defining testing approaches, ensuring quality throughout the development cycle, and maintaining the internal knowledge base on Confluence.
• Moreover, you work closely with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, track and prioritize bug fixes, and actively contribute to sprints, reviews, milestone meetings, and release readiness.
• In addition, you mentor QA team members by sharing best practices and expertise. You support their growth and contribute to the development of the entire team. You also support knowledge-sharing across the company.
• Last but not least, you drive test automation efforts. You do this by evaluating, implementing, and using automated testing tools or pipelines and identifying opportunities to improve QA efficiency.

Your profile

• 7+ years of experience in QA for games, with multiple shipped titles in a senior or lead tester role
• Strong experience in the Casino Game Industry
• Fluent in English, German is nice to have
• Deep understanding of the game development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum workflows, including the ability to identify and manage quality risks across multiple titles

• Excellent bug reporting, communication, documentation, and mentoring skills
• Proficiency with bug tracking tools, e.g. Jira
• Experience testing on various platforms
