Job summary

OMV Group is seeking a senior software engineering professional to design, develop, and maintain platform features for APIs, data integration, and AI. You will work autonomously within agile teams to engineer scalable cloud and on-premise solutions, partnering with data architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust platform capabilities.

You will implement CI/CD pipelines, drive DevOps practices, and coach teams to adopt best practices in AI

Qualifications

• Master's degree in software engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience.
• Hands-on in data integration, API management, and AI/ML frameworks.

• Drive technical platform enablement by sharing expertise in software engineering, data engineering, and AI/ML technologies.
• Coach peers and support knowledge transfer on CI/CD, coding standards, and AI development.
• Research and assess emerging technologies to evolve data engineering and AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with senior architects and product owners to ensure alignment with standards and governance.

Job description

• Contribute autonomously to agile product teams to engineer scalable and automated solutions for cloud and on-premise platforms in line with architectural guidance.
• Partner with data architects, product owners, data scientists, business intelligence specialists, and business stakeholders to translate analytical and AI-driven requirements into scalable platform features.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and DevOps practices to enable efficient software release cycles.
• Drive technical platform enablement by sharing expertise in software engineering, data engineering, and AI/ML technologies.
• Coach peers and support knowledge transfer to help IT teams adopt best practices in CI/CD, coding standards, and AI development.
• Research and assess emerging technologies, tools, and patterns within the modern data ecosystem to continuously evolve data engineering and AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with senior architects and product owners to ensure feature delivery aligns with platform standards, governance frameworks, and business requirements.
• Evaluate and improve platform components, technologies, and processes to support innovation and operational excellence.
• Support harmonized data management and integration processes and enable end-to-end data lifecycle management across the platform.

Your profile

• Master's degree / Diploma in Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in software development and delivery, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools, combined with proven hands-on expertise in data integration, API management, and AI/ML frameworks.
• Ability to coach and enable technical teams, proactively share expertise, and engage and consult with business and technical leaders to translate business requirements into sustainable technical architectures.
• Familiarity with governance, architectural principles, and security best practices, with a solid grasp of data governance, privacy, security, and compliance practices in large enterprise settings, as well as the ability to establish and continuously improve platform standards while balancing usability, security, and innovation.
• Fluent English; German and/or Romanian language skills are beneficial.

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to EUR 77.700,-- all-in. Depending on skills and specific experience, over-payment is possible.
