Bybit Limited in Austria seeks a senior Internal Audit leader to define the EU audit strategy, oversee a growing team, and provide independent assurance to the Board on governance, risk and controls.

You will drive regulatory engagement with EU authorities, coordinate with the global audit function, and advance the maturity of the in-house capability while remaining hands-on on key engagements.

Qualifikationen

• 12–18 years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk/controls functions.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior/leadership capacity within regulated financial services, fintech, payments, or digital assets.
• Strong knowledge of Austrian and EU regulatory frameworks — MiCA, MiFID II, DORA, EMD2, GDPR — with practical experience engaging regulators (FMA, BaFin).
• CIA certification required; additional certifications (CISA, CAMS, CFE, CRISC, ICA) are highly valued.
• Proven team-building experience — must have built or scaled an audit function or team in a regulated environment.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English — essential for regulatory engagement and Board reporting.
• Hands-on in audit projects; not a purely strategic role.
• Outstanding stakeholder management in a global matrix with cross-regional collaboration.
• Knowledge of crypto, DeFi, Web3 ecosystems, and blockchain technology is strongly preferred.

Aufgaben

• Define and execute the multi-year internal audit strategy for Bybit EU, aligned with risk profile and regulatory obligations.
• Serve as primary audit representative to the Board/Audit Committee, providing independent assurance and strategic counsel.
• Maintain local Internal Audit Charter, policies, and quality framework per IIA Standards.
• Build, lead, and develop the EU internal audit team and culture.
• Plan and deliver risk-based annual audit plans covering finance, operations, compliance, IT, cybersecurity, and business processes.
• Coordinate with outsourced/co-sourced partners during the transition to in-house capability.
• Prepare and present audit reports with findings, risk ratings, root causes, and remediation plans.
• Engage with regulators (FMA, BaFin) and coordinate examination support.
