What You Will Contribute:

As the Engineering Manager of our Vienna subsidiary, with about 70 employees, you will supervise a cross functional engineering team of approx. 12 engineers, to achieve company goals as defined by the senior manager of the group. The Engineering Manager is a true leadership role, where the manager’s key performance is measured by the ability to create and execute plans, delegate, empower, influence, and track the team’s ability to achieve their scheduled goals. The Engineering Manager is responsible for defining implementation plans for the required strategy within schedule and budget constraints, and facilitates solutions across functions to optimize the effectiveness of the team.

Job Duties:
  • Provides leadership for the managed technology group, by inspiring team members to achieve their best work in an environment built on trust, feedback, and collaboration.
  • Oversees the performance of individuals and team members, including hiring, budgeting, resourcing, structural planning and performance SMART goal management
  • Collaborates with senior leadership and other departments to define new products, goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Drives effective execution of the defined product roadmap and project schedules, and ensures everyone is informed, engaged, and aligned to plan.
  • Defines and tracks needed key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, using data-driven insights to measure performance and drive improvements.
  • Facilitates solutions to technical challenges and issues that arise during project execution, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manages Engineering process systems, as needed for ECNs/ERs, RMA, ERP, Salesforce, regulatory approvals requirements, ISO requirements, etc. and support for Service, Sales, etc.
  • Supports the professional growth and development of team members, identifying opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and leadership training.
  • Assesses and manages engineering skill sets across team to align with development road map requirements and corporate growth strategies.
  • Travelling Required: 10 %
Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree or completion of technical university education (TU, FH) in electrical engineering, mechanical, mechatronics or related fields.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, 5+ years of experience in managing teams
Key expectations:
  • Good knowledge of German and English.
  • Experience in effectively leading a technical team, demonstrating solid decision making skills, leading to successful project time and budget completion.
  • Understands conventional engineering documentation control systems for design and documentation at the corporate level and a solid understanding of Engineering principals outside their primary discipline.
  • Strong procedural and process knowledge and the ability to identify, and convey, new trends, tools, best practices, and technologies continuously to further advance the technical competency of the department.
  • Experience in training and coaching team members, as required, to be more efficient in their specific areas. Ability to empower and inspire excellence in others, and commit to not only successful project completions but also to developing the team along their desired career paths.
  • Demonstrated strength in inter-group collaboration skills, working with internal and external customers and teams to create solutions and solve problems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, and experience in communicating status through scheduling and tracking team progress. Understands risk, and implications to project planning.
  • Strong financial acumen, experience with basic product costing limits, such as margins and list price, as part of specification, and the importance to the organization.

Additional Information:
  • Salary: We follow the Collective Agreement for the Metal Industry (valid from 1 Jan 2026). The minimum full‑time gross salary is €5182,71 with the possibility of additional overpayment based on experience and qualifications.
