Badger Meter Austria GmbH in Vienna is seeking an experienced Accountant to handle day-to-day bookkeeping and simple ad hoc analyses in controlling. You will ensure data accuracy to support timely finance reporting and collaborate with tax authorities as needed.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in accounting, formal training in bookkeeping and strong MS Office skills, with knowledge of MS Dynamics 365 Business Central as a plus and fluent German with good English.

What You Will Contribute

The Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping (e.g. posting bank documents and incoming invoices) as well as simple ad hoc analyses in the area of controlling. This position will ensure that the data is up-to-date and correctly processed to further guarantee that the accounting department can provide correct analyses.

Job Duties

• Independent tasks in Accounting with focus on
  • Accounts receivable accounting incl. dunning process
  • Asset accounting
  • Bank
  • Closing activities (accruals and deferrals, provisions, etc.)
• Communication interface to the Austrian tax office and processing of FinanzOnline (UVA, ZM, BUMI)
• Internal communication interface to other departments
• Data maintenance
• Support in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to UGB (e.g. preparatory activities for notes and stock report)
• Simple controlling tasks and ad-hoc analyses
• Responsible for administration and reports in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central

Education and Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a comparable position
• Successfully completed professional training in accounting, bookkeeping and controlling

Additional Information

• Salary: We follow the Collective Agreement for the Metal Industry (valid from 1 Jan 2026). The minimum full‑time gross salary is €2918,34 with the possibility of additional overpayment based on experience and qualifications.
