UBIMET GmbH in Vienna is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to evolve our Linux-based infrastructure, focusing on automation, containerization, and modern deployment practices to ensure reliability and scalability behind our weather services.
You will migrate VM stacks to containerized environments with Podman and Kubernetes, implement GitOps, and advance CI/CD pipelines while documenting configurations and training the team.

Spearhead the migration of our current VM stack to containerized & orchestrated environments using technologies like Podman, Elastic and Kubernetes.
Design, implement, and manage automation processes for our infrastructure to boost efficiency and reliability (GitOps).
Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, reliability, and security issues.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth migration and deployment of applications.
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure effective knowledge sharing and compliance.
Train the team around DevOps practices and methodology.
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Debian flavors preferred).
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Podman and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes in an high-availability environment.
Experience with on-prem infrastructure and self-managed k8s clusters.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and a willingness to learn and document new knowledge and skills within Confluence.
Fluency in English; German is a plus.

The annual gross salary for this position starts at €62,557.74 in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Depending on your experience and qualifications, we offer a significantly higher salary, with typical salaries starting at €70,000 gross per year.
