Ketryx is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Team in Vienna. You will lead containerized workloads, implement Kubernetes-based infrastructure, and write infrastructure-as-code for cloud-native deployments to accelerate our medical software offerings.

You’ll own projects end-to-end, collaborating with engineers and client operations, and help optimize CI/CD pipelines, security, and reliability in a fast-growing, regulatory-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional DevOps or related engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AWS services (EC2, VPC, ECS, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache).
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI.
• Infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Experience with containerized workloads and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Empowerment: Design and build reusable infrastructure components that enable engineers to develop, deploy, and operate services autonomously.
• Platform Development: Build and scale robust continuous delivery platforms encompassing build pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Infrastructure Optimization: Maintain and continually enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure.
• Incident Management: Promptly address operational issues and manage service disruptions to minimize business impact.
• Technical Standards: Promote code quality best practices and create actionable guidelines to support engineering teams in maintaining high development standards.
• Developer Experience: Improve developer workflows through tool evaluation, process automation, and optimization of development environments and deployment systems.

Job Summary

We give them the tools to automate the tough parts of compliance and quality so they can focus on what matters most: creating life-saving products with confidence.

We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, part of our Platform Team to support our transition to containerized workloads and continuously optimize our Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure, helping our clients (medical device companies) get their products to market faster. You'll take ownership of the platform from start to finish, architecting containerized solutions, implementing Kubernetes-based infrastructure, writing infrastructure-as-code for cloud-native deployments, and ensuring smooth orchestration through to production. Your work will have a direct impact on the future of healthcare technology.

Ideally you're already located in Vienna or able to relocate quickly. Unfortunately, we are unable to support people without an existing work permit for this position in Austria at this time.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the DevOps or related engineering fields (e.g., Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer).
• AWS Expertise: Proficiency in configuring and maintaining AWS infrastructure such as EC2, VPC, ECS, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache
• CI/CD Proficiency: Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expertise in using IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to automate and manage cloud environments.
• Containers: Proficiency in configuring and maintaining containerized workloads
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with developers, sales teams, sales engineers, and client operations to address any technical questions or requirements.

Additional Skills

• Database Management (Preferred): Previous experience managing and optimizing databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is a strong asset.
• Certifications: Industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Professional, or equivalent cloud platform credentials are a plus.
• Startup Environment: Demonstrated experience thriving in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and rapid organizational growth.
• Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind
• Testing: Vitest, Playwright, Cucumber

Compensation

At Ketryx, we offer a competitive and transparent compensation package that reflects your experience and skills. For candidates with more than 5 years of relevant experience, the gross annual salary starts at €90,000. We offer all-in contracts, with final compensation tailored to your qualifications and experience. In addition to the base salary, our package includes a performance-based bonus and stock options, aligning your success with the company’s growth.
