Job summary

WhiteBIT Group is seeking a CTO/Head of Engineering to lead our EU technology architecture from Vienna. You will oversee custody-related infrastructure, APIs, KMS, and multi-region operations while setting secure SDLC practices and incident response.

The role requires 10+ years in software/infra, 5+ years in senior tech leadership, and strong regulatory framework experience. EU work authorization and willingness to travel to Vienna are expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure, and/or cloud environments.
• 5+ years in hands-on senior technology leadership roles (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, IT or SRE).
• Strong experience in areas: digital asset/custody/KMS/APIs or cloud/FinTech infra or cloud automation.
• Experience with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, DORA or financial-services requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own EU entity's technology architecture and control boundaries between Group services and local infra.
• Oversee custody, KMS, APIs, Travel Rule integrations, on-chain monitoring, and nodes.
• Maintain ICT asset inventory, patching/vulnerability remediation, and security logging.
• Establish secure SDLC processes, CI/CD security controls, environment separation, and deployment gates.
• Lead major incidents, BCM/DR testing, and root-cause analysis.
• Build and lead local Engineering/DevOps/SRE/IT Operations and manage vendors.
