Kenton Black Limited in Kronstorf, Austria, is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre project. The role focuses on senior commercial support across packages, subcontractors and suppliers, with a long-term horizon of Phases 1-3.

You will drive forecasting, cost control and financial reporting, manage variations and change control, and collaborate with project management, engineering and delivery teams to keep commercial objectives

Formación

• Significant experience as a Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead.
• Strong MEP/construction commercial experience.
• Experience on large-scale projects, preferably data centres or mission-critical environments.
• Strong subcontract management, change control, forecasting and reporting.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Kronstorf, Austria.

The overall campus is valued at approximately €300m, with Phase 1 already underway and running through to June, followed by Phases 2 and 3. With around 2.5 years of work currently in the pipeline, this offers genuine long-term stability on a major European mission‑critical project.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior commercial support across a major hyperscale data centre project.
• Manage and oversee commercial activities across packages, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support commercial strategy, forecasting, cost control and financial reporting.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and manage variations, change control, valuations and applications for payment.
• Support procurement and subcontract negotiations.
• Work closely with project management, engineering and delivery teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives remain aligned.
• Provide commercial insight and support key project decisions.
• Help maintain strong commercial governance across the project.
• Contribute to the wider commercial strategy as Phases 2 and 3 develop.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong commercial background who is comfortable operating on large‑scale MEP, data centre, mission‑critical, industrial or similarly complex projects.

You’ll ideally have:

• Significant experience working in a Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead capacity.
• Strong MEP and/or construction commercial experience.
• Previous experience on large-scale projects, ideally data centres or other mission‑critical environments.
• Strong understanding of subcontract management, change control, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• The confidence to provide commercial input at a senior level.
• A pragmatic approach and the ability to work as part of an established project team.
• The flexibility to work a 10/4 rotation in Austria.
