Zusammenfassung

OMICRON electronics GmbH in Austria seeks a hands-on Electrical Engineering professional to maintain and optimize building automation, KNX/EIB and HVAC controls, and to support electrical installations across the site.

You will ensure reliable operation of building infrastructure, manage energy-related systems, coordinate preventive maintenance, and document activities while collaborating with facility teams; German communication required and basic English.

• Completed education in Electrical Engineering (apprenticeship or HTL)
• First experience with KNX building automation
• HVAC control systems experience
• Building services engineering and ventilation experience

• Confident in MS Office; mixture of field work and planning/documentation

Job Description

Your role

• Maintain and optimize building automation systems, including KNX/EIB and HVAC controls.
• Perform electrical installations and support building-related projects across the site.
• Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of the entire building infrastructure, including lighting, emergency stop systems, and workplace installations.
• Take ownership of security-related building systems such as access control, fire alarm, intrusion alarm, and conveying systems.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance activities, oversee external service providers, and ensure complete and accurate maintenance documentation.
• Manage energy-related building systems, including water, heating, cooling, and electricity, while supporting the facility management team in daily operations.

• Bring a completed education in Electrical Engineering (apprenticeship or technical college/HTL) and ideally first experience with KNX building automation as well as HVAC control systems.
• Have practical experience with building services engineering and ventilation or air handling systems.
• Create and implement electrical installations safely and professionally.
• Take a proactive, hands-on approach and enjoy solving technical challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues while working in a flexible, reliable, and structured manner.
• Use MS Office confidently and enjoy combining practical field work (approximately 70%) with planning and documentation tasks (approximately 30%), including opportunities to contribute to future construction and infrastructure projects.
• Communicate confidently in German and serve as the point of contact for external contractor firms. You also have a basic knowledge of English.
