Rankscale GmbH in Vienna is offering a Brand & Marketing Intern position for four months, with a clear path to continue if we are a mutual fit. You will work directly with the CMO on defined marketing workstreams, including campaigns, content, and brand touchpoints, while building ownership within your scope.

The role targets candidates currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master's in marketing, communications, design, or a related field. English writing is essential; German is a plus.

This is a four-month internship with a clear continuation intent: if it is a mutual fit, we want to bring you on after the internship and grow you into the person who owns defined marketing workstreams - campaigns, content, and brand touchpoints - while working directly with the CMO, who keeps strategy and overall marketing ownership.

At Rankscale, we are building software to help hundreds of brands (such as Bosch, Iberdrola, …) monitor and improve their visibility in AI search engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity. We are looking for people who embrace AI tooling to 10x what they are capable of.

We are scaling fast and need someone who wants to take ownership of defined marketing workstreams, not the whole marketing function, while supporting our CMO directly on priorities, execution, and follow-through.

Reports to: Patrick Schmid, Co-Founder & CMO. Works with CMO and marketing.

About Rankscale

• We raised pre-seed funding in November
• Doubled our team size in 3 months from 4 to 8. Planning to double again in the next months
• Office is located in the DC Tower (30th floor, 3 stops away from Praterstern). Currently relocating to a bigger office within city center Vienna.

What you will do

• Plan and execute marketing campaigns across organic and earned channels, and gradually support paid channels, taking ownership of delivery in your defined scope
• Create and manage brand content, from social media and blog posts to case studies and sales collateral
• Build and maintain Rankscale's visual identity across the touchpoints you are responsible for, aligned with the CMO
• Support PR outreach, media relations and thought leadership, executing and coordinating directly with the CMO

Requirements

Must-have

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master's degree in marketing, communications, design or a related field
• Strong written communication skills in English; German is a big plus (we are the market leader in the DACH region)
• An eye for design and experience with tools like Figma, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
• Ambitious and proactive: ready to own your projects end-to-end within CMO direction, without needing to own the entire marketing function

Nice-to-have

• Experience with AI tools to automate marketing workflows
• Video editing or motion/animation skills (e.g. After Effects, CapCut, Premiere Pro)
• Previous startup or agency experience

• Role title: Brand & Marketing Intern (4-month path)
• Summary: Support the CMO directly on brand, content, and campaigns. Four-month internship with the intent to continue into a role where you own a clear marketing lane, not the full marketing function, if we are a mutual fit.
• Compensation: €1.2–1.4k/month
• Start: Immediately
• Commitment: Part-time
• We prefer to work at the office: Building a startup is hard, there is a lot going on. Being together makes it easier to communicate and learn from each other.

Hiring process

1. First chat with our Chief of Staff Jules, then with Patrick Schmid (CMO)
2. Short creative assignment (e.g. draft a campaign concept or redesign a piece of content)
3. Second chat to discuss the assignment and align on vision
