BOND IQ is hiring a backend-focused engineer to own core services and data pipelines, shaping API design and platform reliability. You will build scalable back-end systems, improve data processing, and ensure fast performance as demand grows.

You will collaborate with the founders on architecture and priorities, with hybrid work from our Vienna office and flexible hours. A proactive, low-ego mindset and ownership are essential for success.

The role

You will build and own core backend services: the APIs our product runs on, the data pipelines that keep millions of tenders fresh, and the integrations that connect everything together. You will work across the full lifecycle - design, implementation, deployment, and operation.

What you will do

• Design and build APIs and services powering search, matching, and the customer dashboard
• Own data pipelines end to end: ingestion, processing, deduplication, enrichment
• Keep the platform fast and reliable as data volume and traffic grow
• Improve observability, testing, and developer experience across the codebase
• Work directly with the founders on architecture and priorities

What you bring

• 3+ years building production backend systems in a modern language and framework
• Solid database fundamentals - schema design, indexing, query performance
• Experience operating services in production: monitoring, debugging, incident response
• A pragmatic approach: simple designs, shipped iteratively, measured honestly
• Bonus: experience with search or data-heavy pipelines
