Job summary

5G Systems in Vienna seeks a Backend Developer to design and implement high performing Java-based services within a complex landscape. You will work on Spring Boot/Vert.X, contribute to new tech while maintaining legacy systems, and help production deployments across a cloud-first setup.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor/Master's degree with 2+ years in software development, and hands-on experience in AWS or Azure, SQL databases, Linux, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• University Degree. Bachelor/Master's Degree and at least 2 years of proven professional experience in the area of Software Development
• Experience in the Sportsbook Environment.
• Strong Development skills in Java 18-25 (Spring Boot / Vert.X) or .NET with cloud experience (AWS or Azure).
• Strong Database skills with SQL.
• Knowledge of virtualization and containerized applications (Kubernetes or Docker).
• Basic knowledge of Linux.
• Good knowledge of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Design high performing Java-based services in a complex system landscape.
• Contribute to modern solutions using Spring Boot/Vert.X and maintain legacy systems.
• Support projects from draft to production and document architectures.
• Coach and develop junior team members and participate in knowledge transfer.

Your playing field:

• We love what we do: You will design high performing Java-based services in a complex system landscape
• You will be involved in the concept, design and implementation of modern solutions based on Springboot/Vert.X
• You will contribute to our new technology stack as well as maintaining the existing legacy system
• Together as one team: You will accompany software projects from draft until running them on production
• Documentation of software-architectures and know-how-transfer belongs to your tasks
• You will coach and develop more junior team members as we believe in sharing information and learning from each other - we are as strong as our team is

Which skills you should bring to the pitch:
