Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced AI Ethics and Governance Specialist to join their team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will design and implement governance frameworks, assess AI risks, and promote responsible innovation across projects.

You will collaborate with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams, stay abreast of GDPR, AI Act, and other standards, and develop training to raise awareness on ethics and transparency.

Qualifications

• Master's or advanced degree in Ethics, Law, Public Policy, CS, or related field with AI ethics focus.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, data governance, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and societal implications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI governance policies, guidelines, and frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI projects.
• Advise on fairness, accountability, transparency, and safety in AI systems.
• Monitor relevant regulations and industry standards related to AI ethics.
• Develop training programs and raise awareness on AI ethics and responsible innovation.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, engineering, and product teams.
