Job summary

Vienna Insurance Group is seeking an AI Governance Specialist to drive compliance with EU AI Act, GDPR and DORA across the Group. You will coordinate the AI Responsible Persons network, develop governance processes, and support AI Boards and decision forums.

Responsibilities include maintaining the AI Register, defining governance policies, and risk assessments; training IT and business units; and communicating standards. Strong English is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law, Economics, Business Administration, Data Governance, Information Security, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5+ years in Data/AI governance, compliance, risk management, or related regulatory functions
• Strong knowledge of EU AI Act, GDPR, DORA; governance frameworks, risk assessments, and compliance processes
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication
• Structured and solution-oriented approach with strong analytical skills
• Very good English skills; knowledge of German is a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EU AI and data regulations (AI Act, GDPR, DORA)
• Coordinate the AI Responsible Persons network across the Group, providing guidance and governance processes
• Facilitate AI Board, Councils, and decision-making forums, including preparation and follow-up
• Maintain the AI Register: classification, documentation, evaluation, and monitoring of AI systems
• Define and implement AI governance policies, procedures, and risk assessment practices
• Partner with affected IT & Business Units; build awareness through training and communication of AI governance standards
