Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Steam/Gas Mechanic to safely install, maintain and repair heavy rotating machinery used in power generation. You will collaborate with Supervisors, EHS, and Operations to support FieldCore objectives and contribute to reliable energy delivery.

The role requires dismantling and reinstalling complex equipment, performing precision measurements, and coordinating parts and tooling for projects. OT may be required based on field assignments.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation to determine procedures.
• Experience handling industrial machinery including pumps, motors, turbines, and generators.
• Strong mechanical/technical skills and ability to work with precision instruments.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, assemble, move and align machinery using hoists, cranes and hand tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to guide work.
• Handle shipping/receiving, inventory and tool control for equipment.
• Perform measurements with micrometers, calipers and torque wrenches.
• Conduct machining and welding to produce parts for equipment and training.
• Prepare parts lists and purchase specifications for mechanical, electrical and hydraulic devices.
• Load, transport and install materials and equipment as required.
• Install machinery per layout plans and drawings in industrial settings.
• Work overtime, weekends or holidays as needed.
