Ledcor is hiring for a Survey Assistant role supporting field surveying on Edmonton’s LRT and related infrastructure projects. You will assist surveyors during construction, gain experience with utility work, civil tasks, grading, and concrete as part of a safety-driven team.

Training and development are emphasized throughout the role. Candidates should have exposure to surveying tools, an analytical mindset, and strong teamwork.

• Candidates with experience as a Survey Assistant preferred
• Education in surveying/geomatics/civil engineering will be highly regarded
• Knowledge of setting up survey equipment (GPS, levels, total stations) with training provided
• Basic surveying principles and strong mathematical/analytical mindset
• Effective communication skills are key to this role
• Must handle outdoor conditions and move equipment
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol test required
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean 3-year record
• CSTS-2020, Fall Protection and WHMIS 2015 training can be provided

Job Purpose

Education, Experience And Requirements

• Candidates with previous experience as a Survey Assistant are preferred
• Education in the fields of surveying, geomatics and civil engineering fields will be highly regarded
• Knowledge and experience of setting up survey equipment and instruments such as GPS units, levels and total stations, although training will be provided to the right candidate
• Basic knowledge of surveying principles and an aptitude for mathematics and an analytical mindset
• Effective and concise communication skills are key to this role
• Must be able to handle the physical demands of outdoor conditions and the ability to move equipment
• Reliable team player with a strong work ethic and desire to learn and progress
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Hold a valid Class 5 drivers license and provide a clean 3-year drivers record
• CSTS-2020, Fall Protection and WHMIS 2015 (training can be provided)

Working Conditions

• Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with evenings and weekends free to enjoy at home
• Work will be primarily outdoors in all year-round weather conditions
