Ledcor is hiring a Journeyperson Carpenter in Edmonton to join a safety-focused team on expanding infrastructure projects. You will interpret drawings, plan materials and sequences, and construct concrete forms with traditional and engineered formwork systems, ensuring units are level and correctly sized.

Ideal candidates hold a recognized carpentry certificate, have 5+ years of relevant experience if non-certified, and can pass pre-employment testing. Local travel and OT may be involved.

• Journeyperson carpentry certification is required or equivalent.
• Non-certified journeypersons must have 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience on major infrastructure and bridge projects is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Able to work well in a team and meet deadlines.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year abstract.
• CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, ESC Fall Protection, Confined Space, Elevated Work Platform training provided.

Comprehend drawings to prepare layouts including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, and measuring and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions. Understand concrete forming and engineered forming systems to accurately build concrete forms. Skilled with traditional, PERI, Aluma and EFCO formwork. Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location. Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and within project deadlines, following Ledcor’s high standards for safety and quality.

Education, Experience And Requirements

• Provincially recognized journeyperson certification in Carpentry
• Non-certified journeypersons must hold a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience working on major infrastructure and bridge projects required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team, and meet deadlines
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 3-year driver’s abstract

Working Conditions

• Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day with potential overtime required over the summer months on the weekend
• Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed
