Beacon AI, based in San Carlos, CA, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and deploy the advanced pilot assistance software for its safety-critical flight platform. You will own autonomy-related features and lead a small team, delivering reliable systems for real-time decision-making by human operators.

You will contribute hands-on across the stack using Python and C++, integrate with sensors and hardware, and mentor others to advance mission-critical capabilities in aviation robotics.

Formación

• 9+ years of experience designing and deploying robotic software and/or embedded systems in production environments.
• Strong software engineering skills in C++ and/or Python, with systems-level or embedded programming experience.
• Experience building real-time or interactive systems that support time-sensitive decisions.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and deploy robotic and embedded software for pilot assistance systems in production.
• Own autonomy-related features from concept to deployment with a focus on reliability.
• Write, review, and maintain Python and C++ code across autonomy, systems, and embedded components.
• Integrate software with hardware, sensors, and perception pipelines for autonomous decision-making.
• Optimize software for edge compute environments, manage CPU/GPU usage, and ensure safety mechanisms.
• Lead testing, validation, and deployment to meet safety-critical requirements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction through design and code reviews.
