Beacon AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build advanced pilot-assistance software for autonomous aviation. You will contribute across autonomy, robotics, and embedded systems, collaborating with senior engineers to deliver reliable, safety-critical solutions.

This hybrid role is based in San Carlos, CA with on-site and remote days; you’ll write production-ready Python and C++ code, integrate with sensors and hardware, and optimize for edge compute and low latency to support

Formación

• 5+ years designing or building robotic software or embedded systems.
• Proficient in production-quality Python and/or C++.
• Experience with real-time or interactive systems for time-sensitive decisions.
• Exposure to autonomy-related planning, decision-making, or sensing pipelines.
• Experience with embedded/edge compute platforms and HW/SW debugging.
• Ability to learn quickly in fast-moving environments.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and deploy robotic and embedded software components for pilot assistance systems.
• Contribute to autonomy-related features from development through deployment, with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Write, test, and maintain high-quality Python and/or C++ code across autonomy, systems, and embedded components.
• Integrate software with hardware, sensors, and perception or data ingestion pipelines to support autonomous and operator‑in‑the‑loop decision‑making.
• Help optimize software for edge compute environments, including managing latency and resource usage.
• Participate in testing, validation, and deployment efforts to ensure systems meet safety‑critical and mission‑critical requirements.
• Collaborate in design reviews, code reviews, and hands‑on development with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams.
