Beacon AI is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design and build advanced pilot assistance software for a safety-critical aviation platform. You will own autonomy features, contribute across the stack, and mentor a small team while delivering reliable edge compute software for real-world operations.

You will write high-quality Python and C++ code, integrate with hardware and sensors, and drive time-sensitive decision-making in production environments. Hybrid role based in San Carlos, CA.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience designing and deploying robotic software or embedded systems.
• Strong C++ and/or Python skills, with systems-level programming experience.
• Experience with real-time or interactive systems for time-sensitive decisions.
• Familiarity with autonomy-related planning, decision-making, or sensor pipelines.
• Hands-on with embedded/edge compute platforms and hardware/software debugging.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and deploy robotic and embedded software for pilot assistance systems.
• Own autonomy-related features from concept to deployment with reliability focus.
• Write, review, maintain Python and C++ code across autonomy, systems, and embedded components.
• Integrate software with hardware, sensors, and perception pipelines for autonomous decisions.
• Optimize software for edge compute, manage CPU/GPU usage, latency, safety mechanisms.
• Lead testing, validation, and deployment to meet safety-critical requirements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction via reviews and collaboration.
