Role responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing data integration processes, developing and maintaining ETL pipelines, and ensuring reliable access to structured and unstructured data from multiple sources. You will model and manage relational and dimensional databases, implement best practices in data modeling, and support large-scale data environments using BI/DW techniques. Working with cloud platforms such as Azure Synapse, Fabric, and Data Factory, you will build and optimize data flows, ensure data quality and governance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient data solutions that drive analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Must have qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

• Data Engineer with strong expertise in analytical modeling and data integration process design.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in BI/DW environments.
• 5+ years of experience with advanced knowledge in developing complex SQL queries (SQL Server 2016+ or PL/SQL 11g+).
• 4+ years of experience in ETL processes integrating heterogeneous sources (structured and unstructured data), using SSIS (2010+) or similar tools.
• Knowledge in building data access layers through cubes, data marts, and APIs.
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud-based tools (Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, or similar).
• Familiarity with analytical tools (preferably MicroStrategy/Strategy and Power BI).
• Experience in relational and dimensional modeling; proficiency in SQL/PLSQL (preferably Informix/Oracle/MSSQL).
• Hands-on experience with large-scale databases (Data Warehousing techniques).
• Relevant Data Engineer certifications.

Nice to have qualifications

• Knowledge of IBM Informix.
• Experience in table partitioning and large-scale database maintenance.
• Experience upgrading database versions and ETL tools.
• Experience with Python and/or R.
• Knowledge of SAP BI/BW.
• Experience in continuous integration processes (CI/CD).
• Proficiency with Git-based tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar.
• Experience in data quality control.
• Hands-on experience with Data Lakes.
• Experience developing Pipelines and Data Flows with Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and/or Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Experience managing relational and non-relational databases in Azure.
• Knowledge of Data Governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with monitoring and visualization tools such as Kibana and Grafana.
