Olé Life, a fast-growing insurtech in LATAM, is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead key engineering squads and help evolve our platform.

You will stay hands-on, mentor a small Buenos Aires team, set architectural direction, and partner with product, data, and business units to ship scalable AI-enabled solutions across Latin America.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead key engineering squads and play a key role in the evolution of Olé Life’s technology platform.

This role combines technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and team building. You will help define the technical direction of our platform while building and mentoring a small, high-impact engineering team. Rather than managing from a distance, we’re looking for someone who enjoys staying close to the code and contributing directly to solving complex technical challenges.

You will work closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams across product, data, and business to build scalable systems that support our expansion across Latin America. This is a unique opportunity to build a team and shape the technology behind an emerging InsurTech platform, while operating in a fast-moving environment where speed, pragmatism, and ownership matter.

What you’ll do

• Directly lead squads and co-lead the development of our engineering team, helping establish the technical foundation and team culture from the ground up.
• Own and drive the development of a core area of the Olé platform, aligned with your expertise and the company’s strategic priorities.
• Set technical direction and architecture decisions in collaboration with the broader engineering leadership.
• Remain hands-on with the codebase, contributing directly to development and technical problem-solving.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a small, high-impact engineering team in Buenos Aires.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and delivery processes that enable speed and quality.
• Work closely with product, data, and business teams to translate company priorities into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive a culture of rapid iteration, pragmatic decision-making, and shipping real products quickly.
• Help integrate AI tools and AI-assisted development practices into the team’s workflow to increase productivity.
• Contribute to the long-term evolution of Olé’s technology platform as the company scales across Latin America.

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading technical teams.
• Strong technical background across data engineering, frontend, and mobile development.
• Not necessarily an expert in all three areas, but capable of architecting systems, reviewing code, and contributing when needed.
• Comfortable working hands-on while also leading and scaling teams.
• Treats AI as a default tool in the development workflow, not an experiment.
• Experience using LLMs, copilots, and AI-assisted development tools in production environments.
• Actively encourages and enables teams to integrate AI tools into their daily development practices.
• Pragmatic approach to build‑vs‑buy decisions, balancing speed, cost, and scalability.
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments where priorities and scope evolve quickly.
• Values shipping real products with small, effective teams rather than over-engineering large solutions.
• Experience in insurance or fintech is a plus.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
