We are looking for a talented and results-oriented Software Engineer to work remotely as a key member, expanding the engineering team. You will help build and evolve our next-generation cloud-based compute platform for digitally-delivered life insurance. This is an opportunity to make a large impact at a high-growth enterprise software company in the life insurance space. You will collaborate with other developers and a product manager to build software in support of a suite of business applications and their worldwide delivery teams, all of whom rely on a high-performance, reliable, and extensible backend.

What you will do

• Work on the development of features that optimize Sureify’s main platform
• Evaluate and document the currently existing integrations
• Work with CI / CD / IaC
• Write clear technical documentation
• Operate in a Dedicated Agile Delivery environment
• Work in a remote environment

MUST HAVES

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of experience writing production-quality code, ideally on core software product development (not only professional services or implementation projects)
• Strong proficiency with React and solid experience with NodeJS
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and best practices in frontend architecture
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• Experience designing and building scalable, enterprise-grade cloud-native applications
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with integrating 3rd party APIs (REST, XML, JSON)
• Exposure to Cloud services and DevOps tools (AWS, Docker, Redis, Kubernetes)
• Comfortable working in Pacific Time Zone hours as needed
• Upper-Intermediate English level

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience developing production code using TypeScript
• Familiarity with Orchestration Platforms
