ExxonMobil is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to build, operate, and improve IT Platform Engineering capabilities across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will design resilient, scalable platforms, automate processes, and provide self‑service resources to enable product teams to deliver value.

The role emphasizes observability, deployment automation, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams, with multiple teams and a willingness to learn new tools.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in infra, SRE, devops or related roles.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, etc.).
• Exposure to observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Ansible, or similar).
• Experience managing production environments (Windows and/or Linux).
• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Hands-on scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Experience with version control and CI/CD practices (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Understanding of performance, reliability, and ops best practices
• Good English communication skills

The IT department is seeking new candidates to its dynamic team. The department provides support worldwide to the Organizations all along the value chain from exploration through site development to production.

What Role You Will Play In Our Team

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving IT Platform Engineering capabilities. This role focuses on designing and managing the infrastructure and tools that business capability teams use to build and deploy applications.

The goal is to provide stable, scalable, and self-service platforms, enabling teams to focus on delivering business value without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. This includes automating processes, providing reusable components, improving observability, and ensuring infrastructure resilience, security, and compliance.

In this role, you will apply industry best practices, contribute to platform evolution, and take an active role in improving reliability and operational efficiency. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams and support production environments as needed.

While this description covers a broad range of technologies, we are hiring for multiple teams. We value strong experience in some of these areas and a willingness to learn others, you are not expected to meet every requirement to apply.

About You

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure, site reliability engineering, devops or related roles
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, etc.)
• Exposure to observability tools (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, etc.)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Ansible, or similar)
• Experience managing production environments (Windows and/or Linux)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Hands-on experience with scripting or programming for automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Experience with version control and CI/CD practices (e.g. Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile or collaborative environments
• Understanding of system performance, reliability, and operational best practices
• Good English communication skills (interviews will be in English)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, firewalls, load balancing, IP addressing)
• Experience with containers or orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.)
• Familiarity with backend services and REST APIs
• Experience with enterprise application platforms
