The Walt Disney Company seeks a Lead Software Engineer to own the architecture of a shared media player library and drive API design and layer improvements across streaming workflows.

You will implement features on the QC player stack, establish engineering standards, and collaborate with operators to translate real-world pain into product requirements. Strong React 18+ and TypeScript are required.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience building and delivering production-grade software applications.
• Advanced level of English.
• Hands-on coding. You will implement and debug in an unfamiliar codebase.
• Concrete system design. Handed an unfamiliar problem, you get down to the actual interfaces, interactions, and responsibilities.
• A track record of technical ownership as an engineer.
• Communication and mentoring. You explain technical decisions clearly to engineers and non-engineering partners.
• Strong React 18+ and TypeScript.
• Experience integrating media players into web applications.
• Source control, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub; comfort with containerized build and deploy tooling.

Responsabilidades

• Own the architecture of a shared player library and define its API surface and versioning.
• Lead the layering work to move streaming-protocol concerns behind a clean API.
• Design hooks and data APIs for consuming teams to build custom controls.
• Implement and maintain features on the QC player stack used by operator teams.
• Establish engineering standards: test coverage, code/design reviews, layer ownership.
• Work with QC operators to translate pain points into product requirements.
• Lead deployment quality and stability strategy, including testing and telemetry.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers and raise overall bar.
• Unblock issues hindering testing and release of content to customers.
• Provide on-call rotational support when needed.
