Sovos is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage and scale our enterprise database environments, ensuring performance, security, and availability for mission-critical SaaS applications. You will work hands-on and lead outages, upgrades, and disaster recovery efforts from our Condesa, CDMX office.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of DBA experience, strong SQL Server skills, and the ability to mentor teams while collaborating with product and tech leads on scalable designs.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on Database Administration experience.
• Fluent English, written and verbal.
• Availability to attend the office once a week (Condesa, CDMX).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills with a deep understanding of database internals.
• Solid, hands-on experience with SQL Server environments.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as a subject matter expert for critical database technologies, leading resolution of complex incidents and performance issues across SQL Server mainly
• Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions to optimize query response times and system throughput
• Collaborate with software engineers and tech leads to review query designs and schema changes, ensuring efficiency and scalability prior to deployment
• Lead the implementation of patches, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime, including backup/recovery strategies, high-availability setups, and disaster recovery testing
• Mentor and support junior DBAs and application teams, driving adoption of database best practices across the organization
• Collect and analyze performance metrics and provide intelligent recommendations for system improvements
• Communicate database health, maintenance status, and potential risks clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Leverage AI-assisted tooling and automation to streamline monitoring, root cause analysis, and operational workflows
