Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking an experienced Security Operations professional to join the SOC. You will monitor threats, analyze patterns, and help improve products’ detection capabilities across email, mobile, and network messaging. You will collaborate with Engineering, Support, Threat Operations and Technical Services while working in a 24x7 environment to protect customers.

The role emphasizes automation, threat research, and documenting trends to inform stakeholders and strengthen defenses globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in anti-abuse email deliverability, threat or security research
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
• Good understanding of the Internet and how attackers operate
• Strong technical experience with email, mobile, DNS or other messaging tech
• Proficiency in Shell & Go; Perl/Python acceptable
• Strong English communication, both written and spoken
• Experience using SIEM tools such as Splunk or Kibana
• Familiarity with regex expressions
• Understanding of operating systems and network protocols
• Ability to work in a non-English language is a plus

Responsibilities

• Participate in monitoring and adjusting detection systems for threats
• Develop automation and tooling to improve resilience against threats
• Collaborate with Engineering, Support, Threat Ops and Technical Services
• Document threats and trends for internal and external communication
• Provide CSI remediation support to users
• Operate within a 24x7 follow-the-sun environment
