Job summary

Kraken, a leading crypto exchange network, is seeking a security-focused engineer to defend its on-chain and off-chain platforms. You will own security work end to end, from audits to incident response, and build tooling to automate defensive tasks.

You will work across EVM and other ledgers, improve IAM and secrets handling, and contribute to product engineering with backlog work in TypeScript. A strong cryptography background and prior DeFi/regulated fintech experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and reviewing production code in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Strong security fundamentals: OWASP, authn/authz, injections, supply-chain risk.
• Applied cryptography and blockchain security concepts relevant to EVM/Solana.
• Ownership: drive security items and incidents to closure without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own security deliverables end to end, coordinate audits and due-diligence responses.
• Pentest web apps, APIs, backend services, and on-chain components; build repeatable tooling.
• Threat-model and review architecture, key-management flows, and risk mitigations.
• Review code for security on changes touching auth, cryptography, custody, signing, and funds movement.
• Harden platform: secrets handling, IAM, least-privilege, and logging for security events.
• Support incident detection, triage, response, and post-mortems to improve program.
