Avenga, a global technology services company, seeks a Senior Quality Engineer (Biometric) to ensure the quality, accuracy, performance, and security of a bank's biometric platform and digital onboarding solutions. You will validate capture SDKs, liveness detection, OCR, and rule engine flows with external services.

The role requires 3+ years in QA for biometric systems, strong mobile debugging, API testing, and experience with JIRA/Xray.

Formación

• Proven ability to manage and execute test cases with JIRA/Xray and defect lifecycles.

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute test suites for biometric rule engines and verify policy branches.
• Test Document & Face Capture SDKs across Web and Mobile for usability and performance.
• Conduct Liveness and PAD testing using various spoofing techniques.
• Validate document processing (OCR) pipelines for DNI and passports including MRZ and PDF417.
• Monitor biometric metrics (FAR, FRR, EER) and analyze face matching scores.
• Verify REST API contracts, webhooks, and microservice payloads with external validators.

In the Banking & Financial Services industry, we are actively seeking a Senior Quality Engineering (Biometric) to join our team dedicated to ensuring the quality, accuracy, performance, and security of the bank's biometric platform and digital onboarding solutions. In this role, you will validate capture SDKs, Liveness detection, document verification (OCR), and rule engine flows integrated with external services.

This position is hybrid and requires on-site work 3 times a week in CABA.

This is you

• Bachelor's degree or advanced student in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• 3+ years of software quality assurance experience specializing in biometric identity verification systems.
• Strong expertise in mobile debugging tools (Android Studio and Xcode Console) to isolate logs and troubleshoot iOS/Android apps.
• Proven experience managing and executing test cases with Xray Test Management and managing defect lifecycles in JIRA.
• Solid experience in API and integration testing using Postman, Swagger, Fiddler, or similar tools for REST APIs and microservices.
• Solid functional understanding of the banking sector, transactional flows, and security requirements in digital channels.
• Clear understanding of test automation concepts to collaborate effectively with QA Automation engineers.
• Hands-on experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Technical rigor, analytical mindset, UX sensitivity for onboarding friction, and strong assertive communication skills.

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with market solutions such as Daon TrustX/IdentityX, Jumio, Onfido, Veridas, or FacePhi.
• Familiarity with identity standards (FIDO, UAF, WebAuthn), document verification (MRZ, PDF417, ICAO Doc 9303 NFC reading), and RENAPER integration.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools and innovations (e.g., Agentic AI, MCP).

This is your role

• Design and execute test suites for biometric rule engines, validating policy branching, retry limits, match scores, and exception handling.
• Test Document & Face Capture SDKs across Web and Mobile (iOS/Android) for usability, auto-capture performance, and lighting adaptability.
• Conduct Liveness and Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) testing using masks, photos, screens, and video injection techniques.
• Validate document processing pipelines (OCR) for Argentine DNI and passports, ensuring accurate MRZ, PDF417, and visual field extractions.
• Monitor biometric metrics (FAR, FRR, EER) and analyze face matching scores against defined confidence thresholds.
• Verify REST API contracts, webhooks, and microservice payloads between bank middleware and external validation providers (RENAPER).
• Log detailed technical defects in JIRA/Xray with complete evidence (console logs, API traces, error payloads, mobile logs).
• Collaborate with QA Automation, DevOps, and Observability teams to expand test coverage and adopt quality best practices. At Avenga, everyone matters.
