Avenga is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to design, build, and maintain backend services that integrate Generative AI in a GenAI-first environment. You will work on scalable and secure AI solutions across Web, Mobile, and Cloud platforms, collaborating with product and engineering teams.

The role requires 4–6 years in backend development with 1–2 years in GenAI, plus strong Python, cloud-native practices, and experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and FastAPI.

Senior Python Engineer – Generative AI

Location: Buenos Aires, Hybrid

In the Technology / GenAI & Automation domain, we are actively seeking a Senior Python Engineer with AI expertise to strengthen our team dedicated to building scalable, secure, and production‑ready Generative AI solutions.

This is the job

This role is focused on professionals with a solid software engineering and backend background (4–6 years) who have recently transitioned into the GenAI ecosystem (1–2 years), working with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, FastAPI, and integrating LLMs (OpenAI GPT, Claude, Gemini) into real‑world applications.

You’ll become a vital member of a GenAI‑first team led by experienced professionals, where every project leverages Generative AI to deliver measurable business value. The team works collaboratively across platforms (Web, Mobile, Cloud) and applies Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) to drive innovation and efficiency.

This is you

• 4–6 years of experience in backend/software engineering (Python focus).
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience with GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, LangChain).
• Strong foundation in software engineering principles and cloud‑native development.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, vector databases, and cloud storage (Blob Storage, S3).
• Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform.
• Ability to design and implement RAG architectures and agent‑based frameworks.
• Advanced skills in prompt engineering, embeddings, and optimization.
• Familiarity with AI security practices (access control, input sanitization, prompt injection prevention).

Nice‑to‑have Skills

• Experience building AI pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Event Hub.
• Exposure to enterprise AI solutions such as Microsoft Copilot & Gemini.

• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based backend services integrating Generative AI.
• Build robust, scalable, and secure AI applications aligned with business requirements.
• Develop and integrate LLM capabilities into products and platforms.
• Implement RAG architectures using vector databases and semantic search solutions.
• Create and maintain AI pipelines, APIs, and agent‑based frameworks.
• Optimize prompts, embeddings, and token usage to balance cost and performance.
• Ensure observability, monitoring, and validation of AI systems in production.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver AI‑powered solutions.
• Document technical solutions clearly to support onboarding, scalability, and maintainability.
