Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Power Generation Senior Engineer I to join the SYSS Engineering Group in Latin America. You will design and lead control system projects for power plants across the Americas, focusing on DCS/PLC/SCADA implementations and commissioning.

The role requires 10+ years in the power industry, strong leadership, and ability to travel up to 60%. English is required; Portuguese is a plus. You will collaborate with regional offices and remote teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in related field.
• Travel up to 60%.
• Intermediate level of English.
• Portuguese is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in DCS or PLC/SCADA in Industrial Automation.
• At least 6 Technical Lead roles of medium size projects (over 2000 I/O points)
• Good interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• 8+ Years of Power Industry experience with turbine startup, commissioning, and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements hardware database, logics, graphics and datalinks.
• Selects hardware and software for project implementation.
• Reviews project documentation for quality, accuracy and completeness.
• Leads FAT/SAT, commissioning and startup activities.
• Mentors team members and coordinates with remote engineering teams.
• Tracks project progress, budget and risk; communicates with customers.
