Job summary

Canals is expanding its infrastructure and automation to support rapid growth. We are seeking a senior DevOps Engineer to design and maintain scalable, secure systems for continuous delivery and observability, partnering with engineers and product teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in DevOps/SRE, strong AWS experience, and proficient CI/CD with Terraform/Ansible. This remote-first role offers the chance to shape platform reliability as we scale across the Americas.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Excellent experience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM)
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code
• Strong container experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
• Experience securing systems and managing secrets and network policies
• Excellent communication and ability to work remotely in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS) at scale.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments.
• Automate provisioning and configuration with Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Develop and manage observability for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Strengthen security posture across environments.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize performance and scalability.
• Own uptime, deployment quality, and operational excellence as we scale.
