Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Chief AWS DevOps Engineer to design and evolve a shared cloud platform that product teams can consume as a product. You will shape paved roads, guardrails, and a reliable, secure developer experience aligned with enterprise standards.

Lead a team across DevOps, IaC, and security, codifying interfaces in Terraform and pipelines, ensuring scalable, observable platforms with strong governance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of cloud engineering with a product/platform mindset.
• Deep experience in AWS compute, storage, networking and managed services.
• Strong background in shared-services for logging, monitoring, secrets and identity.
• Security-by-design practices with IAM roles and policy-as-code.
• API definition experience for internal developer consumption.
• Excellent stakeholder communication; English at B2 level.

We are looking for a Chief AWS DevOps Engineer to build and evolve shared AWS cloud platform services that product and application teams consume, treating the platform as a product with reusable building blocks and a consistent developer experience aligned with CCoE standards. You will shape paved roads, reliability, and secure-by-design guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Design shared cloud platform services that application teams consume as reusable building blocks
• Build standard compute patterns and golden baselines to accelerate safe workload onboarding
• Evolve paved roads and golden paths with product teams, security, and operations
• Maintain centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities across the platform
• Implement secrets management, identity, and key management integrations as platform primitives
• Partner with DevOps and IaC teams to codify platform interfaces in Terraform and pipelines
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, resilience, and developer experience continuously
• Align platform capabilities with security, compliance, and enterprise architecture guardrails
• Represent internal developer teams to prioritize platform roadmap and lifecycle investments
• Support centralized integrations such as file transfers and federation where required

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with a product/platform mindset
• Deep AWS compute, storage, networking, and managed services experience
• Strong shared-services architecture background for logging, monitoring, secrets, and identity
• Proven security-by-design practices knowledge including IAM roles and policy-as-code
• Platform interface and API definition experience for internal developer consumption
• Strong stakeholder communication skills with a client-centric mindset
• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

• AWS IAM expertise for role design and federation patterns
• AWS Networking and Content Delivery knowledge for scalable, secure traffic patterns
• AWS Storage Gateway experience for hybrid storage integrations
• AWS Compute depth across EC2, ECS, EKS, and Lambda
• Security by Design Principles applied to cloud platform guardrails
