Avenga is seeking a Senior Node.js Engineer in Argentina to lead backend development for BFF services and microservice-based systems. You will design, build, and maintain scalable services, collaborating with product and frontend teams to drive technical improvements across the stack.

This role requires strong Node.js experience (NestJS/Express), microservices, cloud deployment, and reliable monitoring. You will own full SDLC from scoping to support and mentor juniors.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional Node.js experience.
• Experience designing BFF/back-end services with NestJS or Express.
• Strong RESTful API design and NoSQL integration.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Cloud deployment and management experience; familiarity with Serverless or IaC tools.
• Proficient with GitLab workflows and monitoring (Datadog/OpsGenie).
• Solid SDLC ownership and ability to translate requirements into technical plans.
• Excellent collaboration with TL/PO to meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Design and maintain BFF and backend services with Node.js (18+) and NestJS.
• Build and document versioned RESTful APIs; integrate with microservices and event-driven systems.
• Translate requirements into prototypes and production-ready solutions.
• Ensure code quality: unit tests, code reviews, and defect fixes.
• Deploy and manage cloud applications using IaC or Serverless approaches; ensure production reliability with monitoring and incident response.
• Improve performance, scalability, and availability of services.
• Maintain architectural and in-code documentation; keep stakeholders aligned.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and tech leads; support team OKRs and mentor juniors.

In Argentina (Buenos Aires), we are seeking a Senior Node.js Engineer to join our engineering team and lead backend development for BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) services and microservice-based systems. You will design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable services, collaborate with product and frontend teams, and drive technical improvements across the stack. The role involves full-lifecycle delivery - from technical scoping and prototyping to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

This is you

• 5+ years with Node.js (v18+); experience building BFF/back-end services with NestJS or Express;
• Strong RESTful API design and NoSQL integration;
• Experience with microservices and event-driven/asynchronous architectures;
• Cloud deployment and management experience; familiarity with Serverless Framework or IaC tools;
• Proficient with GitLab workflows and setting up monitoring/alerting (e.g., Datadog, OpsGenie);
• Solid technical scoping, requirements translation, and full SDLC ownership;
• Excellent collaboration and communication; works closely with TL and PO to meet deadlines;

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB;
• Frontend (React) experience;
• Familiar with agile SDLC.
