Reporting to the Senior Director, Controller in Seattle, WA, the Senior Manager will be responsible for managing accounting (under both US GAAP and local regulations) of Getty Images’ Latin American entities, ensuring compliance with global controls and policies. You will also assist with the corporate income and indirect tax activities and payroll within the region.

Your Next Challenge

1. Provide strategic vision while maintaining a collaborative, team driven atmosphere including selecting, developing, mentoring, and counseling employees, establishing work standards, assigning work to employees, and reviewing employees’ work for accuracy.
2. Help the team adjust deliverables when faced with conflicting requests for time.
3. Manage month-end close process for subsidiaries within the region.
4. Ensure foreign subsidiaries prepare and file their annual financial statements in compliance with local standards.
5. Manage external service providers in the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns, withholding tax returns, VAT and other local tax returns within the region.
6. Review intercompany expense calculations and supporting invoices prepared by accounting to ensure appropriate bookings in the local statutory accounts, providing adjusting journal entries as required, and partner with treasury and accounting to ensure intercompany charges are being settled timely and accurately.
7. Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation for the Latin America region.
8. Provide support to the finance organization in relation to Latin America e-invoicing requirements for the company.
9. Help form future processes, controls, and deadlines for our new public company.
10. Have continued focus on improving system efficiencies, managing the General Ledger team’s participation in upgrades and changes to systems, and completing and reviewing MD50 and BR100s.
11. Exhibit a high degree of emotional maturity, general discernment, and leadership presence while interacting and communicating with individuals at all levels.
12. Ensure accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and provide ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions.
13. Encourage direct reports through professionalism and work integrity, displaying a can-do attitude and collaborative nature.
14. Effectively delegate appropriate tasks to the right individuals based on competence and motivation levels, push tasks and decisions down, and empower others.

What You'll Need

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent. CPA, CA or equivalent preferred.
2. A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax environment.
3. Solid experience in a leadership role with the ability to independently set direction, empower team, and deliver results.
4. Proficiency of Latin American regional tax, regulations, and reporting requirements with a strong understanding of US GAAP.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in both English and Spanish.
6. Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to research accounting issues using appropriate guidance, recommend appropriate accounting, and write memos to support conclusions in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and/or foreign GAAP.
7. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, and experience using Oracle.
8. Experience taking the lead in managing processes/projects with strong ability to find solutions while remaining flexible to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
9. A high degree of accuracy and proven ability to prioritize personal and team workload as necessary to meet the business needs and deadlines.
