Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced Environmental Permits Lead to manage the obtaining, maintenance and monitoring of environmental and sectoral permits for our Argentina project. You will translate regulatory requirements into design criteria and coordinate with engineering, social, and construction teams to maintain schedule alignment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological Sciences or Biological Sciences with professional registration.
• 5–8 years of professional practice in environmental management and permits, with at least 3 years in mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina.
• Graduate degree in environmental management, environmental impact assessment or environmental law is desirable.
• Level 2 requires 8–10 years with at least 5 years in mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina.
• Professional registration in the corresponding jurisdiction is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the obtaining, maintenance and monitoring of environmental and sectoral permits.
• Translate legal requirements into verifiable design criteria and align with project schedule.
• Maintain dialogue with authorities and respond to observations and audits.
• Prepare and review Environmental Impact Reports and biennial updates.
• Estimate hours, costs and deadlines for environmental studies for the project budget.
• Ensure compliance with environmental commitments and regulatory constraints.
