Job summary

Bechtel in Argentina is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Field Manager) to oversee environmental permitting and compliance for major projects. You will bridge engineering and regulators to translate legal requirements into verifiable design criteria and keep the project on schedule.

Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications include environmental, chemistry or civil engineering degrees with registrations; extensive experience in mining, energy or infrastructure in Argentina is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Sciences or Civil Engineering or related field with professional registration.
• Experience in mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina is required or highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the permits matrix, deadlines and submission requirements.
• Prepare and submit Environmental Impact Report and biennial updates.
• Coordinate sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, hazardous waste, soil movement, native vegetation.
• Maintain dialogue with provincial and national authorities, respond to observations and audits.
• Alert critical permits in a timely manner and propose sequencing alternatives.
• Define scope of environmental baselines and supervise consultants.
• Ensure compliance with environmental commitments and translate constraints to engineering designs.
• Prepare progress reports with risks and mitigation actions.
