Job summary

Bechtel Argentina seeks a Senior Civil Engineer (Field Manager) to lead permitting and environmental compliance for San Juan projects. You will coordinate between engineering teams and regulatory authorities to ensure designs meet national and provincial requirements and align with project schedules.

The role requires 5–10 years in environmental management on mining, energy or infrastructure projects in Argentina, with strong Spanish and technical English capabilities.

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Natural Resources, Geological Sciences or Biological Sciences with professional registration.
• 5–8 years in environmental management and permits; at least 3 years in mining, energy or infrastructure in Argentina.
• Graduate degree in environmental management, environmental impact assessment or environmental law desirable.
• Native Spanish and intermediate English sufficient to read international standards and participate in meetings with multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the permits matrix, identifying competent bodies, submission requirements and deadlines.
• Prepare, review and submit Environmental Impact Report and updates to the provincial mining authority.
• Manage associated sectoral permits: water use, effluent, emissions, waste, soils and hazardous substances.
• Maintain dialogue with authorities, respond to observations and audits.
• Ensure environmental commitments are tracked and incorporated into design and schedule.
