Position Description

Bridgenext is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our team. The Senior DBA willbe expected to work autonomouslyand collaborate with the development team to design and build schemas, develop and optimize SQL/NoSQL queries.

You will be part of a team which will have on-call duties and will need to respond to high priority incident pager.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyze database performance and ensure effective and efficient utilization of database systems/processes
• Expertise with analyzing long running queries (SQL and NoSQL) and make recommendations on rewriting queries, indexes, statistics and infrastructure
• Expertise in reviewing execution plans and pinning the efficient execution plan, if needed during high priority incidents
• Develop and debug stored procedures, views, etc.
• Write up documentation and share knowledge with other Engineering stakeholders
• Continuously improve how we design, build, and ship software as a highly functional team
• Respond to high priority incident pager

Workplace: Full time, with benefits. Remote, working from home (working in CST) and based in Latin America.

Must Have Skills:

• 7+ years of practical experience building and supporting Azure SQL databasesand NoSQL databases
• Subject matter expert on performance tuning for SQL and NoSQL queries
• Exposure to Microservices architecture
• Proven track record of collaborating with development teams
• Excellent English communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Good exposure to Kafka or equivalent streaming services
• Exposure to working on multi-tenant systems
• Experience building data aggregation or reporting service
• Data migration project experience, requiring backfilling large amounts of data
• Experience with scripting languages
• Exposure to terraform
• Previous experience or exposure to the logistics industry
