Job summary

Chevron Global Business Services (GBS) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain automated data transformation pipelines across diverse storage and compute technologies in support of data architecture design.

Responsibilities include understanding business data needs, enabling data scientists, ensuring data quality, and collaborating with ML engineers to scale solutions; relocation is possible but not guaranteed.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Data Engineer role.
• Experience with data acquisition, preparation, validation, movement and transformation; analytics solution architecture.
• Experience with cloud and big data technologies (Azure, Databricks, SQL, data lakes).
• Proficient with programming and automation tools (Python, Java, DevOps, CI/CD).
• Knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and security technologies.

Responsibilities

• Understand business data use and stakeholder requirements to support processes and objectives.
• Leverage data, software engineering and data science techniques to enable data access and value.
• Identify, acquire, cleanse & prepare, store data and develop data products aligned with architecture.
• Normalize and ingest data from multiple sources.
• Enable data scientists and ML engineers by providing scalable data platforms.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to deploy solutions and automate services.
