Job summary

ELEKS is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Argentina to design and build scalable data solutions for a leading insurance broker. You will work across data foundations, analytics, and reporting, leveraging Azure Cosmos DB, Databricks, and SQL to deliver reliable pipelines.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, low-bureaucracy environment, mentor peers, and stay current with technologies like Delta Sharing and Unity Catalog while optimizing performance and data quality.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB.
• Proficiency in MS SQL and Databricks.
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Advanced skills in T-SQL, Apache Spark.
• Deep knowledge of indexes, execution plans, query optimization, and Python scripting.
• Solid understanding of Delta Sharing, Unity Catalog, computing resources, and job orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with data synchronization workflows.
• Upper-Intermediate level of English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable software in line with technical requirements, focusing on performance and availability.
• Analyze requirements, review designs, and estimate user stories following project methodology (Agile, Waterfall, etc)
• Proactively propose code refactoring and optimization improvements according to the best software development practices and coding standards
• Help maintain and improve high-quality standards within the developer community by sharing knowledge, conducting tech talks, and participating in the internal promotion verification process
• Stay up-to-date with modern technology and obtain professional certifications
• Support less experienced developers by providing training, distributing, and monitoring tasks
