Job summary

Bechtel Argentina is seeking an experienced Construction Engineer to support electrical substation and line projects. The role focuses on providing technical support, interpreting design documents for construction managers and contractors, and maintaining communication between engineering and regulatory or design teams.

The ideal candidate has an electrical engineering degree with extensive HV project experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree and ten (10) years of work experience in substation and Line construction.
• Proven High Voltage experience in at least 2 mining projects.
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction engineering and technical support for a specific discipline on large stand-alone projects.
• Provide construction engineering and technical support for two or more construction engineering disciplines on small to medium projects.
• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings.
• Establish and maintain effective communication between the company and the design engineer for timely flow of design documents.
• Coordinate the preparation and implementation of the project quality program when the quality function is the responsibility of the construction engineering department.
• Report the status of functions performed by the construction engineering department to project management.
