Job summary

Kake, a remote-first company, seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customer teams and implement production-grade AI platforms. You will design, build, and deploy complex data pipelines, APIs, and integrations on top of our platform, collaborating closely with clients to refine solutions.

You will work hands-on with LLM-based systems (prompting, RAG, agent workflows), thrive in ambiguity, and communicate clearly in English while driving outcomes in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Track record shipping full-stack applications, APIs, and data pipelines end to end.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), databases, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based systems (prompting, RAG, evals, agent workflows).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with customer engineering and business teams to scope the highest-impact use cases.
• Design, build, and deploy production-grade applications, integrations, and data pipelines on top of the platform.
• Prototype rapidly in close collaboration with customers, refining based on their feedback.
• Work hands-on with LLM-based systems, from prompting and RAG to agent workflows, debugging and resolving issues in live, in-production deployments, often under time pressure.
• Turn recurring customer needs into concrete feedback for product and engineering to improve the core platform.
