Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to lead key projects in Sandton. You will oversee all phases from FEED to commissioning, managing scope, budgets, timelines, and resources while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role demands 8+ years in chemical engineering with at least 5 in project management, plus proficiency in PMI/Prince2 methodologies and cost estimation tools. You will mentor project teams and coordinate with contractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical engineering, with at least 5 years in project management roles.
• Proven experience managing capital projects within the chemical or related industries.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2).
• Proficiency in project management software and cost estimation tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage chemical engineering projects, from front-end engineering design (FEED) through to commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure all project designs and implementations comply with relevant engineering standards , safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project engineering teams.
