The Senior Business Systems Analyst partners with business stakeholders, Product Owners, developers, QA resources, and cross-functional teams across LATAM and global regions to deliver scalable solutions that support Assurant's insurance platforms and business objectives. This role creates and refines Product Backlog Items (PBIs), user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, business rules, and functional specifications while ensuring alignment between business needs and technical delivery. The role also performs functional, integration, and end-to-end testing; supports User Acceptance Testing (UAT); contributes to incident investigation and root cause analysis; and helps drive continuous improvement within an Agile environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on a global platform supporting multiple markets while collaborating with teams across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Create and maintain Product Backlog Items (PBIs), user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, business rules, and functional specifications that are clear, complete, and testable.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, QA analysts, and business stakeholders throughout the Agile software development lifecycle to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Perform functional, integration, and end-to-end testing, document test results, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Analyze production issues, participate in root cause analysis, and recommend sustainable solutions to improve system performance and user experience.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning activities, and requirements discussions while ensuring alignment between business priorities and technical execution.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, automation, and the effective use of AI-enabled tools to enhance team productivity and quality.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or related role supporting technology solutions and business applications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working within Agile Scrum development environments.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience conducting functional testing, system validation, defect management, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams consisting of business stakeholders, developers, quality assurance professionals, and product owners.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
  • Experience within the insurance, financial services, banking, or consulting industries.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing digital products and enterprise platforms.
  • Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, databases, and software development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve analysis, documentation, testing, or delivery outcomes.
  • Experience working in large, global, matrixed organizations with distributed teams.
