Bluelight, a leading software consultancy, seeks a Business Analyst to translate business problems into clear, buildable requirements. You’ll sit between clients, the product team, and engineers—running discovery, mapping processes, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and ensuring what we ship solves the intended problem.

You’ll work across client builds, maintenance engagements, and Bluelight’s internal products, shaping scope, estimates, and ensuring alignment with security and SOC 2

Qualifications

• 3+ years in BA or related software roles.
• Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in agile/Scrum.
• Discovery sessions and turning ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Process mapping and data modeling at a business level.
• Proficient with Jira; familiarity with Figma and collaborative docs.
• Excellent written and spoken English; able to lead client meetings (US stakeholders).
• Technical literacy to discuss APIs, integrations, databases, and constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to capture goals, workflows, and pain points.
• Document current and future state processes, rules, data definitions, and edge cases.
• Break scope into epics and stories for engineering estimates.
• Identify assumptions, risks, and dependencies early and drive resolution.
• Write user stories with testable acceptance criteria in Jira.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to groom backlog before sprints.
• Work with UI/UX in Figma to ensure flows match requirements and flag gaps.
• Answer engineering questions during sprints and keep requirements current.
• Coordinate with QA to translate criteria into test coverage.
• Support sprint demos and coordinate user acceptance testing with clients.
• Organize requirements in Google Drive with decisions and rationale.
• Capture compliance, security, and audit requirements upfront (SOC 2).
• Serve as primary client contact for scope and questions.
• Translate between business and technical audiences clearly.
• Surface scope changes early and explain tradeoffs.
