Descripción del empleo

Senior Business Analyst — OpsKings (Remote)

OpsKings designs and builds custom AI-powered operating systems for fast-scaling service businesses across home services, real estate, logistics, and adjacent industries. Our clients typically generate $3M–$100M in annual revenue and are outgrowing the patchwork of spreadsheets, CRMs, and industry point-solutions they've relied on to date. We replace that patchwork with a single system built precisely around how the business actually operates.

We operate as a boutique, premium business solutions firm. Our team draws primarily from engineering, management consulting, and operational leadership backgrounds — people who have either built systems or run the businesses those systems are meant to serve.

The Role

The Senior Business Analyst serves as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of OpsKings clients, owning each relationship end-to-end: leading calls, managing incoming requests, diagnosing the underlying business problem behind a stated need, translating that problem into a specification the development team can build against, and ensuring the client is equipped to adopt what has been delivered.

This is a diagnostic role, not an order-taking one. Clients typically arrive with a symptom — "we need a report," "can we track X" — and the analyst is responsible for identifying the actual driver behind that request and determining the appropriate solution.

New hires begin by leading live business process mapping sessions with clients' subject matter experts as part of our intro engagement. From there, the role expands into ownership of full system builds and ongoing iterative improvement work.

Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, with engagements ranging from 3 months to multiple years
  • Lead recurring calls and manage asynchronous communication through our client request portal
  • Oversee change management to ensure clients understand and adopt delivered solutions
  • Identify and surface additional opportunities to expand the value delivered to each client
Discovery & Process Mapping
  • Facilitate live business process mapping sessions with clients' subject matter experts
  • Direct discovery conversations toward root causes rather than surface-level symptoms
  • Synthesize complex, often disorganized operational information into a clear, structured picture of current-state processes
  • Identify root causes spanning operations, workflow design, and underlying data structure
Feature Specification & Delivery
  • Translate business requirements into detailed specifications for the development team
  • Apply technical judgment to assess data models and identify structural issues before they surface as build problems
  • Partner with the development team throughout the build cycle
  • Monitor delivered solutions post-launch to confirm they achieve the intended outcome
Qualifications
Required:
  • Fluent English, with daily client-facing responsibility
  • Professional experience managing client relationships in a consulting, professional services, or enterprise SaaS environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading requirements-gathering, scoping, or discovery engagements
  • Working knowledge of relational database concepts — sufficient to evaluate whether a data schema is well-structured, without requiring hands-on migration or engineering work
  • Ability to manage multi-threaded conversations while maintaining clear progress toward a defined output
  • Based in the Americas, with availability during North American business hours
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in management consulting (Big 4, MBB, or comparable) is a strong plus — this background aligns closely with the diagnostic, structured-thinking approach the role requires
  • Experience operating or building within a service-based business
  • A track record of having built a process, workflow, or system that was subsequently used in production by clients or colleagues
  • Comfort operating within a small, fast-moving team environment
  • Engineering or technical background, while not required, is highly valued
Compensation

Compensation is experience-based, structured as a percentage of revenue under management with a guaranteed floor of $3500. As an analyst grows their book of business, performance-based earnings increase accordingly. On-target earnings for this role range from $5,000–$8,000 USD per month.
