DEPT® is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own significant project portions, turning semi-defined problems into actionable plans and shipping results. You will collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and finance, and contribute to both backend and cloud infrastructure as needed.

You’ll work with frontend peers and apply best practices to deliver visually appealing, smooth experiences while driving architecture decisions and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining production-level backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs and third-party systems.
• Solid working knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiarity with frontend (Angular) to read code and debug.
• Experience with a major cloud provider (GCP preferred).
• Daily use of GenAI productivity tools in development.
• Understanding of core LLM concepts and their fit for problems.
• Proficiency with Git, Agile processes, and CI/CD.

Responsabilités

• Build and deploy scalable backend services and APIs for global brands.
• Turn incomplete specs into clear requirements, tasks, and stories with estimates.
• Participate in technical design of systems, schemas, and pipelines.
• Design contracts that frontend teams and services build against.
• Perform code reviews to raise the bar and provide constructive feedback.
• Surface blockers, risks, and client-facing issues early for course-correction.
• Advocate for testing, security, performance, and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders via email, calls, and in person.
• Apply AI and agentic capabilities to client work and share templates.
• Share learnings internally and externally when project work allows.
